Here in the northeastern U.S., where we're still a bit shell-shocked from the last winter, the June weather seems especially glorious. The irises are certainly celebrating! I'd never really studied those caterpillar-y things on them before. The iris is such a large flower, yet so delicate and intricate--it's hard to capture them in one frame.
June also means at least two baseball games per week for my son (the catcher in the photograph below). This spring, we've already spent many evenings outdoors, cheering on the boys. Not to jinx it, but their record so far is 9 wins, 1 loss. It's a totally different experience having a son on a winning team, that's for sure! The last two years of Little League were...um...not particularly stellar, shall we say?
Also very far from stellar: My husband ruptured his Achilles tendon and will be on crutches for (at least) the next six weeks. Delilah is very confused about this turn of events...
The neighbors just got an adorable new puppy. Meet little Dale...
The most important part of my week: My daughter turned seven! Where exactly does the time go?
And finally, some news: My blogging friend Christy King at The Simple White Rabbit interviewed me recently about living greener, my hatred of shopping malls, and trying my darndest to finally relax. I hope you'll check out our conversation at the link above, and poke around the rest of her informative blog while you're at it!
Happy Weekend!
